Hydrology Associations
Since hydrology is such a laden topic, it's only right that network organizations should be formed to keep disciples of hydrology in the loop on every new development in the field. There is a veritable alphabet soup of acronyms representing all the associations created to this purpose. The major international associations concerned with hydrology are the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) and the International Association of Environmental Hydrology (IAEH). England is home to the British Hydrological Society (BHS). America's primary hydrological association is the American Institute of Hydrology (AIH). In India, where water is a hot and endangered commodity, there are the Association of Hydrologists of India (AHI) and the Indian Association of Hydrology (IAH). These organizations keep the members of the hydrological community at pace with one another, making our civilization more water-smart and water-safe.
