High School
You are not likely to encounter a hydrology class in high school. However high schools provide, and in some cases require, several science classes necessary to a basic, foundational understanding of the sciences such as will be needed when doing college-level work. Students planning a course of action toward a career in hydrology should take as many biology, chemistry, geology, and mathematics courses as possible in high school. High school chemistry and geology classes prepare students with a rudimentary understanding of water's chemical composition and physical properties.
